One of the more popular pastimes of the modern Videovore has become the act of cruising the many avenues of the rewind-inclined web in order to soak in some never-before-seen, eye-catching VHS cover art. While there are plenty of amazing, strange and sometimes downright spectacular video covers to be seen VHStreaming by on video-centric Facebook groups such as Horror VHS Collectors Unite! and VHS Misfits (and there’s always the hi-res, watermarked offerings of VHSCollector.com) one of the most incredible collections of obscure, diverse and fully downloadable VHS cover scans reside over at a site aptly entitled VHS Wasteland. The first clipping he shared was out of Salina, KS, and detailed a shocking mistake made at a magnetic magic duplication facility, inadvertently causing an explicit horror flick to appear at the tail end of a seemingly innocuous children’s cartoon tape. Here’s the article that originally appeared in...

Some fantastic fresh VHS news has arrived from freaky deaky filmmaker Jimmy Screamerclauz who has just unleashed his newest animated nightmare When Black Birds Fly in limited edition analog fashion. You may recognize Screamerclauz from his previous slice of insano animation entitled Where the Dead Go to Die, or his more recent work as the composer on the 2014 film American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore. His brand of utterly surreal, otherworldly animation is known for being delightfully dark, extremely odd and incredibly imaginative, but you can sample a taste of his work by taking a bite out...

If you’re a frequent visitor to the VHS-obsessed landscape of Lunchmeat Land, you’re sure to recall a recent feature on modern day movies receiving the retro VHS treatment where films such MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, Spike Jonze’s HER and ONLY GOD FORGIVES were transformed into fantasy video tapes much to the visual pleasure of Videovores everywhere. At the end of that piece, we sent out a small rewind wish to see the newest holiday horror hit KRAMPUS done up in analog aesthetics with hopes of seeing it spill from the top of our VHStocking on Christmas morn. It seems that...
