Here on LUNCHMEAT’s Spare Parts, you’re apt to uncover a whole mess of analog oddities and obsessions in the horror, sci-fi and exploitation arena; and to be quite honest, the majority of voracious VHS collectors out there do indeed gravitate to the more bloody and / or bonkers end of the cinema spectrum. But there are other Videovores out there with varying inclinations when it comes to collecting magnetic magic. Take for instance, Mr. David A. Scott, the inventor of The VCR from Heck: a website dedicated to documenting public domain animation tapes and their sometimes bizarre, sometimes beautiful but...

Just about a week ago, it hit the world weird web that the limited edition luminaries over at Mondo have slapped together another slab of video vindication with a limited VHS release of Franck Khalfoun’s 2012 remake of the Bill Lustig slasher classic MANIAC. Limited to 500 copies and housed in a clamshell case with artwork derived from the Mondo poster celebrating the flick, these bad boys are issued on black tapes... but as a special bonus, Mondo will be inserting a purple tape at random. For the Tapeheads who are actively attentive to the ever-expanding re-animated analog landscape and ardent followers of the fresh VHS movement, Louis Justin is a man who needs little introduction. His Massacre Video brand has nestled itself into virtually every VHS collector’s video vocabulary, and is widely recognized as being the most legit, heavy-hitting and straight up groovy releasing label to emanate from the VHS revival. And though Massacre has released an army of DVDs (in always rad packaging), it's their super-bitchin VHS editions that have Videovores across the world selling their couch to get their claws on everything with...

Guided to the culture based on its displays of passion, and convinced by an analog oriented event hosted by terrific Tapeheads Rob Hauschild of Wild Eye and Matt D. of Horror Boobs, NY based indie filmmaker Sean Mannion has elected to set this full length feature against the backdrop of the underground VHS collecting circuit… but not in the way you might think. It’s not horror or sci-fi or even some zany sexploitation romp. No, sir, Mannion’s foray into feature film entails one woman’s dramatic journey through the strange and surreal world of unanswered questions stemming from a mysterious VHS...
