VHS IS LIFE Introduces REWIND ROLODEX: an Online Directory for VHS and Video Culture

From the innovator that brought us the revolutionary VHS IS LIFE mold cleaning machine, there’s a new online destination built to bring together every walk of life among the rewind-inclined and those of a physical media mind.

Tony Crouch’s REWIND ROLODEX functions like the Yellow Pages for Tapeheads. It’s an online directory focused on video culture: a place where every entity aligned with VHS appreciation, celebration, and preservation, can be seen, heard and connected.

The directory site also expands into physical media and video rental storefronts, digitizing services, and any businesses that are relative and active within tape culture. Yes, Beta data is always welcome.

And to make it all easier to reference, you’re able to create your own personalized Rolodex, keeping track of all your favorite listings. Think of it as bookmarking your favorite businesses and artists, and making your own little black book of VHS-loving companies.

Here’s more of the mission statement, taken from the WEBSITE:

“Rewind Rolodex began as a simple service directory created by VHS is LIFE to help people find trusted individuals and businesses that could clean and digitize analog tapes. The directory quickly grew to more than 125 entries, which inspired VHS is LIFE to expand the idea into other areas of interest to the physical media community.

While promoting the directory, Josh at Lunchmeat VHS coined the analog-inspired name “Rewind Rolodex,” a nod to the primary way people once kept track of contacts and stayed connected. That name helped solidify the vision for a dedicated space where people could find and connect with others who share a passion for all things analog—and Rewind Rolodex became a reality.”

REWIND ROLODEX is free to join. There is no catch. Tony Crouch has created this site solely to have a singular place that indexes all of the people, places and things that make VHS and physical media culture more robust.

TL/DR: This is essentially free advertisement and niche networking without the “social media” drag, and has the potential to more fully document the breadth and depth of the contemporary VHS community.
