Severin Films / Intervision Prepares to Unleash Three New Titles in VIDEO NASTIES: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE, DEPORTED WOMEN OF THE SS and GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY and Offers a BONUS VHS Copy of GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY If You Order All Three Directly!

Some of the more attentive and in tune Tapeheads out there might recall Severin’s recent incorporation of magnetic magic with their Blu-Ray / DVD release of HOUSE ON STRAW HILL, where they included a FREE video copy of the flick under the title EXPOSE’. Sounds pretty rad, right? Well, get ready to get radical all over again as it looks like Severin (and their sub-label Intervision) are back in the analog saddle and ready to invade your VCR once again with a video copy of GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY as a gratis bonus should you bundle all three of their new releases and order directly from their website.

Dig that army of outlawed analog, mang. This art is BOSSTIMES.

Here’s more info on all three release, and the BONUS VHS straight from Severin / Intervision HQ: “Severin Films has announced June 3rd as street date for the US DVD debut of the UK smash hit VIDEO NASTIES - THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION. The set includes the acclaimed documentary by Jake West (EVIL ALIENS, ABCs OF DEATH) and Marc Morris (Editor of “The Art Of The Nasty”) MORAL PANIC, CENSORSHIP & VIDEO TAPE, newly remastered trailers for all 72 movies on the banned list which caused witch hunts and widespread hysteria in the early 80s including lurid gems like THE GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY, THE DRILLER KILLER, ZOMBIE CREEPING FLESH, FACES OF DEATH, NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN and CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE, plus commentary from critics, scholars and filmmakers on each title. The video nasty era in the UK is now notorious amongst horror fans for branding certain genre movies as likely to deprave & corrupt those who view them in British homes. Video stores were raided up and down the land, distributors were fined and jailed and the British public was denied the right to view certain titles which the authorities deemed too dangerous for public consumption. Across 14 hours the full shameful story, the political lies, the corrupt press and the denial of basic freedoms are laid bare in this monumental 3 disc set.

A peek at the DVD art for the upcoming Intervision release. WHIP IT. WHIP IT GOOD.

Also on June 3rd, Severin’s sub-label Intervision will release UNCUT SPECIAL EDITION DVDs of two notorious ‘nazisploitation’ titles: GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY and DEPORTED WOMEN OF THE SS SPECIAL SECTION. The Italian ‘nazisploitation’ cycle of films were amongst the first to attract the attention of the video nasty police and GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY and DEPORTED WOMEN are two of the most notorious and now remastered from the original camera negatives. For extras both titles include a new in-depth featurette with Film Historian Dr. Marcus Stiglegger on the history of the cycle starting with WWII propaganda and comic books, through early cinematic examples in the 50s and 60s before the commercial success of THE NIGHT PORTER and Visconti’s THE DAMNED paved the way for ILSA SHE WOLF OF THE SS and a host of Italian productions including SS EXPERIMENT CAMP, NAZI LOVE CAMP 27 and SALON KITTY. In addition DEPORTED WOMEN features a jaw-dropping interview with late director Rino Di Silvestro (WEREWOLF WOMAN, HANNA D. THE GIRL FROM VONDEL PARK) and amusing recollections from star John Steiner (CALIGULA, TENEBRAE). Bundles of all three (VIDEO NASTIES - THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION, GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY & DEPORTED WOMEN OF THE SS) purchased through the Severin Films store will come with a free VHS replica of the GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY video nasty original release as well as a postcard of the original art designed by notorious nasty cover artist Graham Humphreys signed by Jake West and Marc Morris.”

Another serving of "Naziploitation" from Intervision coming soon. Chains, whips and chicks. DIG IT.

Well, that’s some pretty sweet analog incentive if I do say so myself! I also took the opportunity to ask Severin main brain David Gregory about the choice to bring some analog excellence back into the mix with these releases by offering it only if you bundle all three, and this is what he had to say: “We like to give something extra to the hardcore Severin fans who come directly to us. We had a good response last time, so we’re doing it again.” Dig that, David! Intrigued by their innovative “analog as an extra” marketing technique, I inquired as to why they like to use the video as incentive as opposed to just selling the VHS outright. Gregory elucidates: “I think we could sell the VHS separately, but it seems like more of a memento or a treasure for the shelf to keep in the shrink wrap, so better as a free bonus. It was different with MANSON FAMILY because it had never had a VHS release, but was certainly the kind of film that should have had one. It just missed the VHS boat.”

The BONUS VHS that you'll receive should you order all three new releases from Severin, complete with the same key art from the original Video Nasty release. NASTY.

And, of course, as I’m sure you’re all probably wondering, too, I asked what we could expect next from the Severin / Intervision camp. David filled us in: “ GRINDHOUSE TRAILER CLASSICS VOLUME 1, continuing our collaboration with our friends at Nucleus Films in the UK who put together the amazing Video Nasties Definitive Guide which comes out on Severin next month — another reason why GESTAPO’S LAST ORGY and HOUSE ON STRAW HILL (aka EXPOSE) were released on VHS through us. We’re keeping the Nasty tradition alive and it’s fun to make something collectable out of something that was banned and prosecutable in the UK not so long ago. In fact, both these titles are still illegal in the UK in their uncut forms, so even more fun to celebrate films that the British still find so dangerous. That’s amusing to us. We have much more coming from Intervision but can’t announce yet.” Ahh, that’s what they all say, David! But we believe you! Looks like video nasty fans and Tapeheads alike should be sure to stay tuned to Severin’s Official Site to keep updated on all their cult flick re-animation, and fresh VHS incarnations.

Groove and Groove and Take It Out of the Shrink Wrap, man.
