Yo, Tapeheads! It’s time to announce the most rewind-radical party of the year! Drive-In VHS Fest 9 IS ALIVE!!

Let’s put reality in the rewinder and get ready for another stack of sizzling slabs on the big, BIG screen when The Mahoning Drive-In Theater, Lunchmeat, and Saturn’s Core present the most awesomely analog event of the year, Drive-In VHS Fest 9! THREE nights of boffo big box beauties and clamshell classics from the hazy ‘n crazy glory days of the video store, projected onto the massive Mahoning screen from original VHS tapes!


From Friday, July 11th to Sunday July 13th, all the good tapes are out… at The Mahoning!

Hosted by Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher of The Found Footage Festival, this celebration of all things videotape brings vendors and tapeheads from across the United VHStates and beyond together to pay homage to the cult of clamshell, slinging tapes and watching deep cuts and classics from the deep, dark, dusty shelves at the back of the coolest video store you wish you had in your town!


Curated by the VHSpecialists at Lunchmeat and Saturn’s Core, the 9th time’s the charm, with a wild line-up of tantalizing tapes and live guests that leap off the screens of your youth and onto the Mahoning lot to meet, greet and sell photos and autographs!

  • Charles Pinion (Director of TWISTED ISSUES – Friday and Saturday)!

On Friday night, hang out with your friends and pop in this brain-searing trio of hot rentals!


  • BASKET CASE (1982) - The tenant in Room 7 is very small, very twisted, and very mad! Directed by Frank Henenlotter!


  • TWISTED ISSUES (1988) - Teen sk8ter zombie seeks vengeance! Directed by Charles Pinion!


  • FLESH EATING MOTHERS (1988) – Suburban moms go cannibal and give new meaning to the term “family dinner”!


Saturday night, stay up late, turn the lights down low, and eyeball at these top shelf titles!


  • BRAIN DAMAGE (1988) - It’s a headache from Hell when a parasite with a mind of its own worms its way into every aspect of a young man’s life! Directed by Frank Henenlotter!


  • PSYCHOS IN LOVE (1987) - A tender tale of true love between two psychopaths! Directed by Gorman Bechard!


  • FLESHEATERS FROM OUTER SPACE (1989) – It’s Jersey headbangers vs a human-hungry alien, in a terrifying tale you’ll not soon forget!


Sunday, pack your sack and cozy up in your cabin for a SLEEPAWAY CAMP double feature!


  • SLEEPAWAY CAMP II: UNHAPPY CAMPERS (1988) – A kooky, campy cut-up of a sequel to the slasher classic, with Angela back in the woods as a killer counsellor!  


  • SLEEPAWAY CAMP III: TEENAGE WASTELAND (1989) – Angela is back for more! Featuring one of the screen’s great lawnmower killings.


Gates open at 3pm each day for our legendary VHS Fest vendor market, with films hitting the screen as sundown. Shop ‘till you drop, then drop yourself in the after-hours slot for a throwback night of VHS-tacy!
