NYC-Based Skate Company 5BORO Issues Decks Paying Home Video Homage to TDK Recordable VHS Cover Art Aesthetics with their VHS Series Pt. 2!
Some of the more attentive VHSkaters out there might already be familiar with the most bodacious line of VHS-inspired decks released by the NYC-based skateboarding outfit 5BORO last year, which celebrated an assortment of 8 different recordable VHS cover aesthetics from the 80s. That initial array of analog art-based decks are still available RIGHT HERE, but 5BORO is back at it again with another newly released rewind-inclined line, aptly entitled VHS Series II. This series includes three different designs celebrating the aesthetics of the TDK recordable VHS cover art (seen here), and are also marked as the debut pro models for 5BORO team members Rob Gonyon, Silvester Eduardo and Jordan Trahan. Check out the decks below, man!
The three new deck designs from 5BORO in their VHS II Series. Super High Quality VHShit, man. DIG IT.
These decks are currently available via the 5BORO webstore for just under 50 bones, along with the other 8 VHS-inspired decks from the first series which are going for the same price. As of right now, these designs are only available on their decks, but hopes are high from skateboarders and skate tape lovin’ Videovores alike that these radical renditions of rewind-era art make it to some t-shirts and stickers soon, man. In the meantime, you can reach out to 5BORO and request the creation of those undoubtedly dope threads and hope for the best! I know I needs me that Rafael Gomes graphic all up on my chest. Thanks to fellow Tapehead Michael Beard for writing in about these!Groove and Groove and VHSkate the Planet.
